Austin and I are considering a little trip to New York in February over Valentine's Day. I know, as Jess said, "So Sleepless in Seattle"! We wanted to take another trip before baby comes, and we've both always wanted to go to New York. Plane tickets are pretty inexpensive, and we found a good deal on a hotel.
Our moral dilemma is obviously that we are about to have a baby, and should we spend the money? We think it would be worthwhile and a big stress relief to be able to go somewhere like that for a weekend. But then our financially responsible side tells us to just put more money away for the babes.
So we need you to help us decide.
What do you think??

You should definitely go. I'm being totally serious. Chris and I did this about a billion times, and, as you know, we always decided to be responsible and not go. And now, money's still tight anyway, and we don't have any fun trip memories to ease the pain of not having money :) Seriously. And now it's really really hard to plan for a get-away weekend. Anywhere-- but definitely not to a place we have to fly to! So, you should really really go.
go go go! you won't get to for a longgggggggggg time once the babies start coming!
Definitely go. Devin and I would've never gone toItaly back in '06 if we were being financially responsible...but it was the best trip and we have great memories of it. totally worth it. it was our last shebang before kids kind of thing. (although, you can still travel once you have kids...just not as easily.) Also I read an article once that said that the happiest people spend their money 3 ways: on the necessities, charity, and travel. Buying expensive "things" doesn't bring us happiness, but the memories we make going places does. There's nothing like the Big Apple...GO! : )
