Cabin in the Woods
So this is my last ditch attempt, and I guess if you're reading this then it finally worked out.
We spent two weekends ago in Washougal to say goodbye to our beautiful family cabin. Much to all our dismay my parents sold it and we needed to pack up the rest of what's been there. It was bittersweet, but I'm glad we made the trip and were able to take Mason at least once and show him where I grew up in sweet little Camas. Knowing that it was the last time we'd be there for a long time made all of it seem even more perfect and beautiful...even the dreary rain.
We ate at our beloved Burgerville, twice of course, made S'Mores in the giant cabin fireplace, packed up all the furniture, went shopping at the beautiful Pendleton store, and walked up the driveway-our favorite morning workout. Nana even caught a frog for Mason to look at while I hid like a coward behind the screen door. I need to get over that if my kids are ever going to learn to enjoy nature.
Mason learned from our other many road trips that it's best to just go to sleep right from the start.

Somehow I ended up spending pretty much my entire day in the kitchen. It started because I needed to prep mason's baby food for our second road trip in a week and a half. Then 5 pm rolled around and I had done all the baby food, baked two kinds of cookies, made potstickers for mine and Mason's lunch, baked homemade graham crackers, and made chicken curry with couscous and sweet potato fries for dinner. I don't even really like to cook that much, but it was pretty fun. Mason loves those graham crackers, but not as much as Austin! Now I have to load the truck for our drive to the family cabin tomorrow. We are so excited! It's been almost six months since I saw most of my family, which is just way too long. There's no reception there, so I will have to update the blog when I'm back to civilization. Enjoy your memorial day weekend!!

I'm goin' to BOISE IDAHO!
I made the mistake of giving him an oatmeal chocolate chip cookie. He had done this in about five seconds.

Then to seal my title as the worst mom ever, I let him wash it down with some Mt. Dew. Just kidding, I would never let my child drink soda.

Best pizza ever.
Even the menus were delicious.

Boise Fry Company.
Blueberry ketchup
Gorgeous peonies, my favorite.
Delicious homemade donuts
It's always a battle for the sunglasses.
In love with my saltwater sandals. And Mason's little baby hand sneaking into the picture.
Tyler's cute mom.
Handmade wooden spoon Siara bought Mason at the farmer's market.
